Simply Adorable

Angela has the most adorable blog and she's having a fabulous giveaway. I love her site...think Martha Stewart but not obnoxious and oodles cuter. So glad I found her blog!

A little brag

I made some cards for troops and the lady received them; the ones I made are in the picture with all the cards, fourth row from the bottom, the left half of the row. So crazy to see my cards! The cards are in California, enjoying better weather.

Oops...

Spilled Martha Stewart florentine gold beads (like glitter) all over my carpet. Looks like the Dyson will get a workout tomorrow, which is fine...but all those beads, just gone...ugh.

My first scrapbook blunder, by far not my last. :)

Unhappy with The Paper Studio

I just finished my Disney album (yay!) and loaded it into my post bound album by The Paper Studio.

The frame on the front of the album has already fallen off, which means I can't put a picture on the front (I don't really have any adhesive that would be strong enough).

But the worst was the page protectors--they're not true 12"X12"! They're 12"X11 3/4" which is totally useless to me. Why should I have to trim my pages to fit them? And they're labeled 12"X12", which is a total lie.

Never again, never again will I buy albums by The Paper Studio.

The Everyday Scrapper

Here's a fabulous blog and she is celebrating her first birthday in a big way! Visit The Everyday Scrapper; you'll find you read this one every day!

Today is the day

Today is the day I post my work online. I have done a few albums, so I think I'll create the goal of posting one album every three days. I can do that. :) Will be posting to scrapbook.com, twopeasinabucket.com and here. Should be fun!

Happy Day

Today I am having lunch and then hunkering down to finish my Christmas album. This weekend I'll work on my Disney album and it's supposed to rain, so I should be productive and would like to knock out most of it.

But what I'm most happy about: The house is nice and quiet and I can get some work done. I'm really enjoying the sound of nothing. :)

Sheesh

It's been too long since I've posted here, but I've been busy working on my new scrapbook room. I'll post pictures next week. I think everybody else gained working space, but I got things nice and organized and worked my computer into my work area. That will come in handy when using my Cricut with SCAL.

Travis loved his album and thinks his dad will love it for his 75th birthday. We had some rather lengthy and fun discussions about scrapbooking--it was pretty funny.

I am looking forward to posting more of my work and other pictures next week. Travis leaves Sunday, which means Monday I'll be watching movies all day and Tuesday I'll be scrapping all day. Not sure I'll even get out of my jammies. :)

Their Old-Fashioned Courtship line is my favorite--look at all that red!

Hope you enjoy!

Liner notes

I am nearly done with Travis' album and started the liner notes for each layout. I wrote out what the challenges for each layout were, why I chose that paper and sometimes I even commented on the pictures. I really enjoyed doing this--sort of like a scrapbook diary and I think I'll do the same for my own work when the mood strikes. I think it would be interesting to read--much later on--what I was thinking with each layout.

I'm also toying with the idea of doing the ABC scrapbook with DCWV Alphabet Stack--can't decide if I want to do all B&W, B&W with red or B&W with one extra color per layout. I think all B&W would be a challenge, but of course B&W and red really appeals to me; just what I need, an excuse to buy red embellishments.

Recommendation

I just added "Debby's Dare" to my blog; she's got great ideas and such a positive attitude! I love learning from her and I try to scrap some of her ideas because I'm working on a scrapbook all about me--who else is going to do it? :)

Happy Anniversary

I finished the 50th Anniversary layout for Travis' album. It was difficult for me to work with white and gold and at first I thought the pages were ho-hum. But once I saw them together, I really loved them and appreciated all of the different textures.

It's difficult for me to work when I'm not inspired...I couldn't get really sentimental on this layout and that kind of blocked me a little. But he can get as sentimental as he wants in the journaling block and I don't have to deal with it. :)

On my way

Well, I started on Travis' album today and I just love the first page. It's a little flowery, but it still remains quite masculine and I hope he likes it. I won't be seeking approval on every layout, but I really want the first page to be special.

goals and more goals

My friend asked me to make a scrapbook for his father's 75th birthday and I was so honored. It really touched me that he asked me to do it; I had made an 8X8 album for our trip to San Francisco and he loved it.

I get an immense amount of joy giving scrapbooks and I gave one to my sister this year for Christmas. She actually hugged her album before she unwrapped it--it was awesome.

In short? I love doing albums and giving them as gifts! My goal is to do more this year and share my new hobby with my loved ones.
